Swedish electric vehicle trucking company Einride is expanding its presence in the U.S. by deploying 75 manually operated electric heavy-duty trucks within Amazon’s Relay freight network. This move aligns with both companies’ goals: Amazon aims to enhance its no-emissions logistics capabilities, while Einride prepares for a public offering. The trucks will operate in Amazon’s middle-mile network, facilitating transport between fulfillment and delivery centers, and are expected to cover up to three million electric miles annually.

This partnership underscores the growing trend of electrification in logistics, with Amazon already investing heavily in electric vehicles, including a commitment to add 100,000 electric delivery vehicles by 2030. Einride’s proprietary optimization software, Saga AI, will also play a role in managing operations, highlighting the importance of technology in this transition.

For market professionals, this collaboration signals a significant validation of Einride’s technology and strategic vision, potentially influencing investor sentiment as the company moves toward its planned SPAC merger, expected to raise over $300 million.
